Emergency Lockdown
Initiate site-wide lockdown with a single click
Overview
The Emergency Lockdown feature allows property managers to quickly secure their entire property with a single action. This guide explains how to activate, monitor, and release an emergency lockdown using Alloy Access.
How to Activate Emergency Lockdown
Locate the "EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN" button in the top-right corner of any page in Alloy Access
Click the "EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN" button to initiate the process
Review the confirmation dialog that appears: "Are you sure you want to activate an emergency lockdown?"
Click "ACTIVATE" to confirm and initiate the lockdown
Wait for the success confirmation message: "Lockdown action successful"
During Active Lockdown
When a lockdown is active, you'll notice several visual indicators:
The top banner turns red with the message "Emergency Lockdown has been initiated"
The "EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN" button changes to "LOCKED DOWN" in red
A counter appears showing any unsecured doors (e.g., "1 Door Unsecured")
The "RELEASE LOCKDOWN" button becomes available in the red banner
Monitoring Lockdown Status
Check the health dashboard for any doors failing to achieve lockdown status
Monitor the counter in the header showing any unsecured doors
Releasing the Lockdown
Verify that it's safe to release the lockdown
Click the "RELEASE LOCKDOWN" button in the red banner
Confirm the release action in the dialog that appears
Wait for confirmation that the release was successful
Verify that doors return to their scheduled modes
Important Notes
All credential access is automatically suspended during lockdown
Emergency egress remains functional for life safety compliance
All lockdown actions are logged with user information and timestamps
Sites under lockdown are clearly marked in the sites list for portfolio-wide visibility
