Manage Doors

Set up a door in Alloy Access to manage entry at your site.

Doors Page

Once you've built your site, you'll need to set up access-controlled entry points. These are called doors in Alloy Access though they might be gates or garages. To setup a new door:

  1. Go to the Doors page by clicking it in the left navigation menu under Configuration.

  2. Select the Add Door button

  3. Input the Name of the door

The character limit for a door name is 60

  1. Choose the associated controller that the reader is wired to from the 'Controller' dropdown.

    1. Don't have a controller yet? Learn how to Create a Controller

  2. Click Save

  3. Set the Reader field to the corresponding reader and board number (e.g., LP1502(Internal):Reader 1)

  4. Set Strike to the desired physical terminal output on the board (e.g., LP1502(Internal): Output 1)

    1. No relays left to use on the I/O Panel? Learn how to Create an I/O Panel here for additional inputs & outputs.

  5. Set the Rex1 to the desired input terminal on the board (e.g., LP1502(Internal):Input 1)

    1. This can be an input from a motion sensor, Request to Exit (REX), Push to Exit button, etc.

  6. Click Save

Repeat steps 1-7 for each door at the site you want to set up. After setting up all of your doors, you must assign each door to specific access levels.

To control access:

  • Create at least one schedule to define available access times.

  • Assign this schedule to an access level, restricting door access to those times, such as only during working hours.

Setting an Unlock Schedule

Every Alloy Access door includes a configuration menu. To access it, click the pencil icon next to the door name. At the bottom of this menu, you'll find a dropdown field labeled "Unlock Schedule." You can use this feature to set the door to unlock automatically during specific times. This allows anyone to open the door without needing credentials.

How to Set Up a Door Position Switch

  1. Navigate to the "Configuration" section in the left sidebar.

  2. Click on the "Doors" option.

  3. In the Doors list, click on the door you want to configure for Door Position Switch.

  4. In the door settings panel on the right, locate the "DSM 1" (Door Switch Monitor) field.

  5. Click on the dropdown menu and select the appropriate input for your door's position switch (e.g., "Matt's LP1501 (Internal): Input 1").

  6. Find the "Held Open Limit" slider and adjust the slider to set the desired time (in minutes and seconds) before a held open alarm is triggered. In the example, it's set to 01:30 (1 minute and 30 seconds).

  7. Locate the "Disable Forced Open Events" checkbox. If you want to receive alerts for forced open events, ensure this box is unchecked. If you want to disable forced open event alerts, check this box.

  8. After making all necessary adjustments, click the "Save" button at the bottom right of the settings panel to apply your changes.

Before configuring software settings:
